John Joseph Geimer, “Johnny,” passed away surrounded by family on Monday, July 7, 2025. John was born on August 15, 1946, in St. Louis, Missouri, to the late Elmer and Nellie Geimer.
John spent his entire career as a master craftsman in the jewelry business. He opened his first retail store in downtown St. Louis in 1982, followed by stores in Clayton, MO and Edwardsville, IL. He may be best known as the jeweler who always brought his dog to work. He also had an amazing talent to take your vision or your drawing and turn precious metal and gems into something you could hold on to forever. To his many customers and neighboring businesses, thank you for your friendship and business.
John was a family man who loved life and his children fiercely. His smile had the ability to light up a room, and his sense of humor brought laughter. He was always the first person to tell you he loved you and call you “kid.” Oh, and don’t get him started on the St. Louis Cardinals, football, the best cheeseburger, his love of dancing and swimming, how many dogs has had, or that ever elusive royal flush poker hand.
John was preceded in death by his daughter, Tammy, and brothers Donald and Kenneth Geimer.
John is survived by his three children, Tracey Geimer, Tiffany DeClue and John Joseph Geimer, Jr. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Scott Ziegler, Jr. and Kayla Geimer, and great grandchildren Bella Sittiams, Omari Hussey and Oliver Ziegler.
John was also stepfather and grandfather to Melissa and Mary Mackler, Sabrina Probst, and Rory and Eben Makler.
John leaves behind many other family members and friends that loved him and will miss him dearly. May peace be with him and the angels guide him to that great dance floor in the sky.
Your life was a blessing and a treasure. Thank you for a lifetime of memories.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, July 28, 2025, at 10:00am in Siesta Key, FL where his ashes will be scattered at sea in memorial.
As many know, John was a lover of dogs. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cape Coral Animal Shelter. https://capecoralanimalshelter.com/donate/give-now/
