John C. Van Deusen, 68, passed away at 10:10 p.m. Monday, January 11, 2016 at Integrity Healthcare of Godfrey, surrounded by his family.
Born Sept. 15, 1947 in Granite City, he was the son of Charles and Martha (Bade) Van Deusen.
John owned and operated Alton Stone & Fireplace since 1976. A very charismatic, fun-loving and giving man, he was an avid runner and St. Louis Cardinals fan. He also was very active in his church.
Survivors include seven daughters and four sons, Lisa (Pete), Shelley, Diane, Ashley, Jo, Megan, Jenna (Matt), Charles, Neal, John and Derek; 9 grandchildren, David, Kayla, Noah, C.J., Cade, Danniel, Connor, Mia, Aelaina, McKenna, Hayden and Rowen; a sister and brother-in-law, Marsha and Charles Shea of Godfrey; a cousin, Patty Bade of Granite City; and his former wife and dear friend, Anne Blasioli.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family will hold a memorial visitation Friday, Jan. 15 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1433 W. Delmar, Godfrey from 10 a.m. until memorial services begin at 11 a.m. A luncheon will follow at the church.
