Joan Daube

Joan E. Daube, age 83, of Worden, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at 10:35 am, at Villas Of Hollybrook in East Alton, under the care of BJC Hospice.

She was born on March 4, 1942, in Alton, the daughter of the late Luther and Vakel (Porter) Baker. Joan married Delore W. Daube on February 18, 1961, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Worden. He preceded her in death on April 10, 2023.

Joan was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Worden, a part of the Ladies Aid organization, a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church choir and a longtime volunteer. She worked at Owens Illinois Glass in Alton Illinois, sat on the Board of Directors of the Worden Public Library for many years. Joan enjoyed sewing, cooking, was a skilled baker, loved to take care of children having a home daycare and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, she will be sadly missed.

Survivors include her children, Deborah (Kevin) Morris of Edwardsville, and Michael (Christina) Daube of Edwardsville; grandchildren, Ashley (Robert) Mayernik, Sarah (Shawn) Bland, Olivia (Lucas) Meyer and Douglas Morris; great-grandchildren, Avery Mayernik, Allie Mayernik, Brooks Bland, Ava Bland; and one sister Norma Biondolillo of East Alton.

Along with her parents and husband, Delore, she was preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia (Alan) Bruhn; and several brothers and sisters.

Per her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded through Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.

A celebration of life visitation will take place on Saturday, July 19, 2025, from 10:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Worden. Pastor Heath Curtis will officiate. An inurnment will be at Worden Lutheran Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to Worden Public Library, The Alzheimer's Association, and/or Trinity Lutheran Church of Worden.
