Jesse Agin

Jesse James Agin, 79, of Cottage Hills, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2025, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

He was born on October 14, 1945, in Harrisburg, IL, the son of Charles and Hazel (Feazel) Agin. Jesse married Linda L. Thomas in Harrisburg on August 3, 1964. She survives.

Jesse worked for 38 1/2 years as a General Plant Manager and Foreman at Olin Corporation before his retirement in 2001. He was of the Baptist Faith. Jesse was a member of the Fat Boys of Illinois (FBI) Car Club. He enjoyed working on cars and going to car shows. He loved his dog, Max. Most of all, Jesse loved spending time with his friends and family.

Along with his wife, Linda, he is survived by his children, Jeffrey Agin of Cottage Hills, Michael (Wendy) Agin of Cottage Hills, and Becky (James Cox) Simmons of Bethalto; his siblings, Denzil (Barb) Agin, Clay (Marla) Agin, Wade Agin, Asa Agin, and Blanch (Terry) Riley; grandchildren, Jessica (Colten) Pickett, James Agin, Whitley (Chad) Scott, Sawyer Simmons, Sidney (Cody) Cooper, and Zoey Emery; and great-grandchildren, Caden, Carter, Cameron, McKenna, Connor, Caroline, Rylee, Ronin, Waylon, and one more little one on the way.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Alex Cox; and his siblings, Jennifer Ramsey, Mary DeVore, Buck Agin, Bill Agin, Dakota Agin, and Loretta Nalley.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2025, from 1 until time of service at 4 pm, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto. Pastor Terry McKinzie will officiate.

Graveside service and burial will be on Monday, March 3, 2025, at 1 pm, at Block Home Cemetery in Rudement, Illinois.
