Janice H. Baker, 77, of Maryville, IL, passed away at 6:05 a.m. Sat. July 6, 2024 at her home.
She was born Mar. 13, 1947 in West Frankfort, IL to the late Carl & Vivian (Gray) McClerren.
On Dec. 14, 1983, she and Edwin J. Baker were married in Alton, IL. He survives.
Janice worked in college financial management. She was a member of the United Church of Christ and had attended church in Granite City and Edwardsville. She loved to sew and care for her plants. She was also quite a shopper and loved to get those rebates.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by 3 daughters: Deanna (Jack) Rainey of Granite City, IL, Tracy (Rob) Walters of Edwardsville and Amanda (Thomas) Kodros of Matawan, NJ; a son: Eddie (Suzanne) Baker of Lee’s Summit, MO; 8 grandchildren: Zach and Maya Walters, Shelby Rainey, Lauren, Jake and Claire Kodros and Ty and Tre Baker; a sister: Sandra Hall; and a brother: Gale A. McClerren both of West Frankfort, IL.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until time of services at Noon Thurs. July 11, 2024 at Wojstrom Funeral Home & Crematory. Private family burial will be at a later time at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army or please plant something beautiful in her honor.
