Janet “Sue Sue” Fitzgerald, 74, of Godfrey, Illinois, passed away peacefully at 5:55 p.m. on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at Jerseyville Manor.
She was born on August 22, 1951, in Paintsville, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Goble and Clesta (Pack) Taylor.
She was an avid painter, knitter and crocheter. On August 17, 1973, she married Ronald Fitzgerald, he survives.
She is survived by her son Stephen (Rebecca), step grandson, Michael, four sisters, Peggy, Mary, Nancy (Bobby), Kathy (John), five nieces, Heather (Dianne), Jennifer, Melissa, Ashley (Chris), Amanda (Mary), nephew, Mathew (Ronda), two great nieces, McKenzie, Megan, three great nephews, Taylor, Hunter, Gage, two great great nieces and a great great nephew.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by an infant son, Chad Eric.
As per her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded, and a private family interment will be held at a later date.
