James (Jim) Rankin of Godfrey, IL born January 10, 1945 in Cottage Hills, IL, passed away on Friday August 1, 2025 at his home. He was surrounded by loved ones.
Jim was a proud Army vet and retired from Laclede Steel as an electrician in 1999.
He leaves behind his wife of 56 years Jackie (Kern) Rankin, a daughter Jenny (Rankin) Baldwin of Godfrey, IL, a son Jason Rankin of Houston, TX, a son in law Mark, a daughter in law Kelly, his brother Charles Rankin, sister in law Wanda and his beloved only grandchild Ryleigh Baldwin.
Jim loved the Southwest and golf. He got to enjoy 14 years in New Mexico with Jackie. He loved his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Helen Rankin and his sister Roberta Martin.
Per his wishes there will be no services. A celebration of life will be set at a later date.
Cremation rites have been accorded by Elias, Kallal, and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey, IL.
Memorials are suggested to the St. Jude's Research Hospital or Alton VFW.
