Jacquelyn Traylor

Jacquelyn L. Traylor, 91, passed away Thursday, July 25, 2024 at Robbins Manor in Brighton.  She was born October 14, 1934 in Alton; she was the daughter of the late Howard and Mildred (Mathews) Worsham.

She was a wife, mother and homemaker, she married William E. Traylor on New Year’s Day, January 1, 1955, and he passed away on July 14, 2009.

A member of the Alton Seventh Day Adventist Church, she had been active in various groups at the church including their community center, during the great flood of “93”.

She is survived by her only child, Steven E. Traylor; seven grandchildren, Joseph Traylor, Clayton (Faith) Traylor, Joshua Traylor (Katie Allen), Nathan (Lydia) Traylor, Stephanie Traylor, Lucas (Shannon) Traylor and Casey (Tony) Reed and 12 great grandchildren with number 13 on the way in August, Zachary Traylor, Logan Traylor, Lillian Traylor, Xander Traylor, Jonathan Traylor, Titus Traylor, Olivia Yanick, Elijah Yanick, Isabella Yanick, Noah Basham, Grayson Reed and Natalie Reed.

Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her siblings, Gary (Donna) Worsham, Elba “Dodo” (Paul) Vanick, Sandra (Woody) Worsham-Harris and Larry Worsham, niece, Peggy (George) Walker as well as many other family members and dear friends.

She will be sadly missed by all who were related to her and knew her. She has been through thick and thin over her life time and persevered through the great and good times and the not so good and bad times.  She recovered nearly fully from a stroke several years ago; just a couple of years after that she fell and fractured her hip and yet again recovered remarkably well.

There will be no visitation and the family will get together at a later date to remember and honor her and her life, and reminisce about the love she had for her son and all her grand and great grandchildren.

Rest in eternal peace Mom and tell Dad hello and that we all miss him and tell him all about all the grandkids and great grandkids.  He would have been so proud to have been able to be around them all, as I know you have.
