Jack R. Pruitt Jr., 74, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 3, 2026, at Solace Hospice House in O'Fallon, Missouri.
He was born on November 21, 1951, in Alton, Illinois, the son of Jack and Dorothy (Coleman) Pruitt.
Jack married Marcia Sitton on June 17, 1996. She preceded him in death on December 7, 2024.
A faithful member of Heartland Baptist Church, Jack enjoyed playing Pirates of the Caribbean and had a lifelong love of music, especially playing the guitar. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, particularly his grandchildren, who brought him immense happiness.
He is survived by his mother, Dorothy Pruitt, four children and their spouses: Sarah and Chad Graham of Godfrey, Illinois; Annie Sheridan of Alton, Illinois; Melissa and John Rigoni of O'Fallon, Missouri; and Tim Pruitt of Savannah, Georgia. He is also survived by nine grandchildren: Savannah (Dillon) Lumma, Caleb (Autumn) Graham, Derick Henley, Dominic Rigoni, Milo Rigoni, McKenzie Pruitt, Tanner Unterbrink, Sierra Werner, and Megan Scott; five great-grandchildren: Haisley Graham, Kyron Werner, Wilder Lumma, Weston Lumma, and Willow Grace Lumma; one brother and sister-in-law, David and Kathryn Pruitt of High Ridge, Missouri; along with many other relatives and dear friends.
In addition to his beloved wife, Marcia, Jack was preceded in death by his father, and two daughters, Jennifer Scott and Misty Dawn Pruitt.
Cremation rites will be accorded.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 3:00 p.m. at Heartland Baptist Church in Alton, with Pastor Alex Melton officiating.
