Imelda Foederer

Imelda "Millie" Agnes Foederer, age 92 of Highland, IL, died Thursday, September 11, 2025, at Cedarhurst in Highland, IL.

She was born on Saturday, November 12, 1932, in Pierron, IL, the daughter of Anton and Wilhelmina "Minnie" (nee Goestenkors) Korte.

On Tuesday, May 12, 1953, she married John K. Foederer at Immaculate Conception Church, who passed away on June 7, 1993. In May 2000, she married Lester Pender, who passed away on May 5, 2004.

She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church. She was also a member of VFW Auxiliary Post# 5694, Meals on Wheels, St Paul Choir and Funeral Choir.

Millie was born on the family farm near Pierron, Illinois. She attended Immaculate Conception Catholic grade school in Pierron. After finishing 8th grade, she helped her parents operate their farm. When John Foederer finished his military commitment with the US Army, they were married. She raised 6 children. She worked at Chastain's Nursing Home as a Nurse's Aide and then worked for St. Joseph Hospital as a Nurse's Aide retiring in the early 2000s. Millie enjoyed watching sports - Cardinals Baseball, college sports, tennis, etc. She used the app "Find My People" on her phone to keep track of her children and grandchildren. Millie enjoyed "the boats" and local gaming. One of Millie's hobbies included ironing. She ironed for many local residents over the years. She loved her time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

  • Mother - Wilhelmina "Minnie" A. Korte (died 02/07/1981)
  • Son - John G. Foederer (died 03/18/2024)
  • Siblings - Daniel J. Korte, Ralph F. Korte, Vincent A. Korte, Raymond F. Korte, Margie Rohling, Marie Huelsmann, Lorraine G. Jakel and George W. Korte, H. Korte

Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL and from 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM on Friday, September 19, 2025, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.

Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 19, 2025, at St. Paul Catholic Church in Highland, IL, with Father Teddy Adakus, officiating.

Interment will be at Saint Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Highland, IL.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association, American Red Cross, HSHS St. Joseph's Hospital-Highland or Meals on Wheels.
