Gloria Ann McGrath, passed away on March 30, 2026, at her residence in Godfrey, Illinois.
She was born on February 20, 1954, in Wood River, Illinois, to John H. and Elizabeth M. (Barnhill) Pilger. Gloria married Patrick Edward McGrath in 1972, and together they shared many years of love and companionship.
Gloria was a devoted member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Godfrey. She worked in the enrollment center at Lewis and Clark Community College, where she was known for her kindness and dedication. Gloria had a deep appreciation for nature and found joy in simple pleasures such as car rides, especially along the scenic River Road. She had a special love for birds, which brought her much happiness throughout her life.
She is survived by her loving husband, Patrick Edward McGrath; her sister, Shirley Mourning of Bridgeton, Missouri; her brother, John (Joyce) Pilger of Summerville, Texas; her sister-in-law, Leslie McGrath of Texas; and her godchildren, Deborah (Andy) Wade of Jerseyville, Illinois, Misty (Trampus) Mills of Texas, and Shannon McGrath of Texas; along with several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brother-in-laws, Vince (Leona) McGrath and Mike McGrath; sisters, Marcella Shann (Don) and Catherine Jones (Lewis).
Elias, Kallal, and Schaaf Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
