Glenn M. "Whip" Wilson, 74, of Gillespie, IL, died in Benld, IL on Friday, February 28, 2025.
He was born May 4, 1950, in Litchfield, IL to Glenn M. Wilson & Lily Elliott Wilson. He married Christine Schey Wilson on February 15, 1972 in St. Louis MO.
He was a coal miner for Monterey Coal Mine for 33 years. Glenn was a veteran of the U.S. Army after having served during Vietnam.
He is survived by his spouse, Christy Wilson of Gillespie, IL, children, Jeff (April) Wilson of Litchfield, IL, Jennifer Wilson of Gillespie, IL, grandchildren, Sydni Wilson, Jeffrey Wilson, Michael Clark, brother, Gerald (Cathy) Wilson of Gillespie, IL, sister, Ellen Brown of Gillespie, IL, brother in law, Bob Schey and sister in law, Laura Wilson.
Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Jim "Whip" Wilson, brothers in law, Steve Brown, Lubba Schey and sister in law, Judy Wilson.
There will be a memorial visitation on Thursday, March 6, 2025 at Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Memorials are suggested to donor's choice.
