Glenda L. Hock, 82, passed away peacefully at 5:05 PM on Monday, September 23, 2024, at La Bella of Alton. Born on April 23, 1942, in Cairo, IL, she was the beloved daughter of Anna Louise Jones.
A proud graduate of Mt. Carmel High School, Glenda dedicated her life to her family and was often described as the best mom ever. She had a profound love for animals and was an avid reader, finding joy and adventure within the pages of countless books.
Glenda is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, William "Bill" A. (Roberta) Hock of Godfrey, IL, and Brian (Teresa) Hock of Estancia, NM, as well as her daughter Lisa Volker and her significant other Jonathan Stirrup of Fairview Heights, IL. She cherished her eight grandchildren: William A.H. (Angie) Hock, Robert "Dustin" Hock, Robert J. Volker, Kathryn (Shayne) Korte, Debra Hock, Brian (Jennifer) Hock, Katherine Mason (Hector), and James Russell Mason, along with several great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy.
In addition to her parents, Glenda was preceded in death by her two brothers, Kenneth and Ronnie St. Arbor.
Cremation rites have been accorded by Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Homes and Crematory. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in her honor.
