Geraldine "Geri" A. Baer, nee Stout, 71, of Alton, Illinois, born November 3, 1954, in Hannibal, Missouri and raised in Cahokia, Illinois, passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at Eden Retirement Center in Glen Carbon, Illinois.
Geri retired as the Lab Manager of the City of Alton Waste Water Treatment Plant, where she worked for 35 years. Geri got a Bachelor's Degree at SIU Carbondale. Geri had a kind and generous heart, that was shown not only to humans, but also in the love she showed for animals. Geri also enjoyed working Cross Stitch.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Marlene, nee Yarsinski, Stout, and a sister, Robin Jackson.
Surviving are her husband of 36 years, Carl Baer; three brothers, Carey, Colin, and Brian Stout; two nieces, Danielle and Ashley; and two nephews, Justin and Bradley; and many friends and extended family members.
In accordance with Geri's wishes, a private burial will be held at Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, Illinois.
Braun Family Funeral Home was entrusted with the care of Mrs. Baer.
