George Little

  George T. Little, 79, passed away Monday, June 4, 2012 at his home.

  Born June 5, 1932 in Metropolis, Ill., he was a son of George W. and Oma D. (Forgy) Little.

  He married Carol (Link) King on May 10, 1999 in Cottage Hills.  She survives.

  He was a truck driver for Olin Corp for 36 years until his retirement.  He was an avid farmer who was always willing to share the harvest.  He was known as the “Candy Man” by all children in his neighborhood and at church.  Since 1946 he rarely missed a St. Louis Cardinals game.  He loved riding motorcycles.

  In addition to his wife, he is survived by 5 daughters, Kathi Grace, of Jackson, Miss.; Janie Smith, Penny Buckley, and Debra Bard, all of Paducah, Ky.; and Rhonda Hoffman of Ballwin, Mo.; a son, Thomas Little of Paducah; 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; a sister, Louise Roka of Saginaw, Mich.; and two brothers, James and Robert Little, of Grand Chain, Ill.

  He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 sisters, Dorinda Little, Alice Lawrence, and Barbara Alvey; and a brother, Robert Little.

   Visitation will be Thursday, June 7 at First Southern Baptist Church of Forest Homes on 4th Street from 4 p.m. until services begin at 7 p.m.

  Family will greet friends Saturday, June 9 at Masonic Cemetery in Cypress, Ill. From 1 p.m. until committal services begin at 2 p.m.

  Memorials may be made to the First Southern Baptist Church of Forest Homes.
