George Harbaugh

George Perry Harbaugh, 84, of Dorchester, IL, died at Gillespie Health and Rehab Center, Gillespie, IL on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at 3:35 am.  He was born May 23, 1940, in Hettick, IL to John Lester Harbaugh & Iva Mae Clark Harbaugh.  He married Darlene (Klein) Harbaugh on January 5, 1962, in Appleton, WI.  He was an ag mechanic for Heyen's Farm Implement and then Sievers Equipment. He also worked as a chainer and in the maintenance department at Laclede Steel. 

George was a member of the Fosterburg Baptist Church.  He enjoyed tinkering with everything.  He is survived by his spouse, Darlene Harbaugh of Dorchester, IL, children, Chris (Barbara) Harbaugh of Gillespie, IL, Russell Harbaugh of Litchfield, IL, 9 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, many great great grandchildren, siblings, Phyllis Black, Elmer Harbaugh, David Harbaugh, Shirley Lee.  George was preceded in death by his parents, sons, Byron K. Harbaugh, Kenny Harbaugh, siblings, Charles Harbaugh, Carl Harbaugh, Louise Fry, Ernest Harbaugh, Dale Harbaugh, Wayne Harbaugh. 

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2024at the Forsterburg Baptist Church at 11 am with a meal to follow.  Memorials are suggested to wishes of the family.  Anyone wishing to send an online condolence may do so at www.kravanyafuneral.com.  Kravanya Funeral Home, Gillespie, IL is in charge of the arrangements
