George S. Hall, 83, of Glen Carbon, Illinois passed away at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at Liberty Village in Maryville.
He was born February 22, 1941, in Camden, Tennessee, a son of the late Robert and Ila (Markham) Hall.
He married Barbara Joyce (Allen) Hall on August 31, 1962, in Glen Carbon and she passed away on December 6, 2020.
George retired from Kienstra in Wood River after many years of dedicated service as a truck driver. He proudly served his country with the United States Navy and was a longtime member of the American Legion Post #435 in Glen Carbon. He enjoyed his days of fishing, was always meticulously tending to his home and lawn and was a fan of NASCAR and watching old western shows. He will be remembered for the love and special times shared with his family and friends.
He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Karen Hall of Glen Carbon; a son-in-law, Steve Sedlacek of Glen Carbon; three grandsons and their wives, Dustin and Rachel Sedlacek, Chad and Chelsea Sedlacek and Zachary and Brittany Sedlacek; seven great grandchildren, Ezra, Max, Hudson, Jack, Wesley, Reece and Willow; a brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Dorothy Hall of Maryville; many special nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; other extended family and friends.
In addition to his beloved wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Deena Sedlacek; eight brothers and three sisters.
In celebration of his life, a memorial visitation will be held at Irwin Chapel, 591 Glen Crossing Road in Glen Carbon on Friday, February 28, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. until time of a memorial service at 7:00 p.m. with Reverend Sharon Autenrieth officiating.
