George D. Blakeslee, 87, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2026 at La Bella of Edwardsville.
Born March 3, 1938 in Chicago, he was a son of Harry D. and Mabel (Wiggel) Blakeslee.
George owned and operated H.B. Cabinet for many years. The youngest in his family, he made sure all his family members were always taken care of.
He married Lowanda Kay Smith July 23, 1966. She survives, as well as two nieces who were like daughters, Shelia (Randy) Clements and Maryann (Jason) Del Pozo; Brad (Diane) Harrison, who was like his son; nieces Coral Alberts and Bonnie De Marco, nephew Glen Psczola, nieces Amy and Eileen Blakeslee; a sister-in-law, Ardene Peterson; and multiple other nieces and nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Fay and Lucille; and four brothers, Tom, Harry, Rich, and Jack.
A celebration of George’s life will be held in the Spring Valley Peru IL area at a later date.
