Gail E. Murphy, 82, of Cottage Hills, passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at her residence.
She was born in Bloomfield, MO, on December 11, 1943, the daughter of George H. and Dorothy A. (Wilson) Murphy.
Gail worked for Morning Star as a Registered Visiting Nurse. She was a member of House of Victory Church and worked in the food pantry there. She enjoyed helping kids in anyway she could, antiquing, going to rummage sales, her cats, and spending time with her friends and family.
She is survived by her children, Jessica Seeger and Joy (Bobby) Glover; grandchildren, Tiffiney (Jason) Nance, James (Racheal) Seeger, Jonathon O'Dette, and Joshua Phillps; and great-grandchildren, Isabelle, Parker, Eva June, Taylor, Easton, and Kynleigh.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Angie Bricker; sister, Caroline (Steve) Taylor; son-in-law, Larry Seeger; and a nephew, Stephen Taylor.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 19, 2026, from 9:30 am until time of service at 11 am, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto. Pastor Tim Naylor will officiate. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens.
