Fred L. Searcy, 87, passed away at 10:21 p.m. Friday, December 24, 2021, at River Crossing of Alton.
Born Feb. 23, 1934, in Wood River, he was the son of Clyde and Helen (Graham) Searcy.
A veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard, Fred worked as a machinist for Owens-Illinois in Godfrey and McDonnell-Douglas in St. Louis.
He married Marlene L. Ring on May 4, 1957, in Wood River. She passed away on Jan. 13, 2004.
Survivors include two sons, Steven (Cindy) Searcy of Cottage Hills and Shawn Searcy of Bethalto; grandchildren, Ashley Schilling and Kylie Rice; and great-grandchildren, Trent Sanders, Daxon Keaton, Cambria Rice, Isla Schilling, and Oliver Schilling.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Marilou Davis.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
