Frank Vollmer

Frank E. Vollmer, 91, of Belleville, IL, born January 2, 1935, in Mascoutah, IL, died Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at his residence with family by his side.

Frank dedicated more than 30 years of his career to General Motors before retiring. He loved gardening, playing bingo, and restoring Allis Chalmer tractors.

He was preceded in death by loving wife of 66 years, Mildred L. Vollmer, nee Miles, whom he married on December 26, 1958, and who died on May 10, 2025; his parents, Frank and Mathilda, nee Griesbaum, Vollmer; and his four sisters and brothers-in-law, Margaret and Ben Wilken, Ann and George Romack, Dorothy and Jerome Korte, and Magdalene and Edwin Hermeling.

He is survived by his four children, Rosemarie (Clay) Bunch, Frank (Laurie) Vollmer, Janet (Neill) Munie, and Kenneth (Dawn) Vollmer; ten grandchildren, Clara (Scott) Hansen, Amy (Andrew) Vollmer, Katelyn (Derrick) Stumpf, Mackenzie (Kyle) Hanenberger, Frank (Jaclyn) Vollmer, Wesley (Hannah) Munie, Austin Munie, Taylor Vollmer, Cassidy (Hunter) Rhoden, and Courtney Vollmer; 12 great-grandchildren, Aaden, Ashton, Shelbie, Jillian, Mabrie, Paityn, Jaxson, Averie, Millie, Hudson, Anderson, and Emerson; and many dear nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Eagle Cliff /Miles Cemetery Inc. or to Cathedral of St. Peter, Belleville, IL. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, January 17, 2026, at the Cathedral of St. Peter, Belleville, IL.

Funeral: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 17, 2026, at the Cathedral of St. Peter, Belleville, IL, with Fr. Godfrey Mullen, OSB officiating.

Burial will be at Green Mount Catholic Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
