Forrest Huskamp

Forrest “Sonny” Huskamp was born in Fairmont City, Illinois on May 27, 1937, to Floyd and Rose Huskamp, and entered into rest on Friday, September 26, 2025, at the age of 88.

He was preceded in death by his son, Keith Huskamp; his parents, Floyd and Rose, nee Struense Huskamp; his sisters, Shirley Gudinas and Dorothy Forsee; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Gilbert (Marge) Wilhold, Kathy Wilhold, and Judy (Donny) Phillps.

Sonny is survived by his wife of 62 years, Alice Huskamp, nee Wilhold; his brothers-in-law, Donald Wilhold; Phillip (Donna) Wilhold, Sr., and David (Diana) Wilhold. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. He had a special love for his nephews, Tommy and Timmy and his nieces, Mary Ann, Phyllis and Rose Ann.

Sonny was a Veteran in the United States Army National Guard and had a career as an Operating Engineer at Quality Sand Plant. He was full of life and could spark up a conversation with anyone. He had a passion for outdoors and whenever possible he could be seen hunting, fishing, and trapping with friends and family. Throughout his life, he mentored and taught many nephews and younger friends the art of hunting. Whether it was ducks, geese, rabbits, doves, or fish, Sonny loved the sport.

Throughout the years, Sonny had many yearly Bar-B-Ques and celebrations to bring the family together. His wisdom, humor and presence will be deeply missed. Until we meet again, rest in peace, “old” duck hunter.
