Eula M. Hatton, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully at 3:53 p.m. on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at Alton Memorial Hospital.
Born on April 19, 1934, in Reyno, Arkansas, she was the daughter of Jesse Rogers and Hazel Johnson. Eula married Charles Hatton on September 1, 1961, in Alton, IL. Charles preceded her in death on July 16, 2013.
Eula was a proud graduate of Jerseyville Community High School and devoted her career as a medical secretary for Dr. Naguib.
She is survived by her loving children: Diana (Tony) Swift of Jerseyville, IL; Cheryl Johnson of Godfrey, IL; Patty Gibbons of Alton, IL; Jesse Hatton of Alton, IL; Charles Hatton Jr. of Troy, IL; and Meg (Scott) Rustin of Troy, IL. Eula's legacy continues through her grandchildren: Kenny Swift, Heather Sauerwein, Amber Rucker, Beth Snyder, Joshua Robertson, Joey Pembrook, Jake Pembrook, Jared Schooley, Jennifer Hatton, Jay Burch-Wedding, and Rachael Rustin, along with several great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, family, and friends.
Eula was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, Rita Diane Hatton, son-in-law Greg Johnson, grandson Jeremy Hatton, and sisters Peggy Price and Charlene Ruyle.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m., Monday, November 4, 2024, at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey, Illinois, with Rev. Dan Bowers officiating.
Burial will follow at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey, IL.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Metro East Humane Society.
