Prior to their move to Brighton in 1955, they lived in Cedar Grove, Missouri; Summersville, Missouri; Kansas City, Missouri; Wickliffe, Kentucky and Eminence, Missouri.
She was a rural school teacher in southern Missouri and retired in 1978 from Southwestern CUSD #9 as an library aide. Many students remember her from her days on the mobile library called the “bookmobile”, before libraries were established in the various elementary centers. She was a member of the Prince Road Church of Christ in Alton
