Elda M. Baker, 82, of Moro, Illinois, passed away peacefully at 12:37 p.m. on Friday, November 29, 2024, at Alton Memorial Nursing and Rehab.
She was born on September 18, 1942, in Carlinville, Illinois, to Ralph and Enid Marie (Zieglar) Meier. On November 26, 1960, Elda married the love of her life, Robert D. Baker, who preceded her in death.
Elda was known for her strong work ethic and determination. A lover of coffee, she also found great joy in the companionship of her beloved dogs. In her younger years, Elda especially enjoyed watching her grandchildren, shopping, and hunting for the best deals.
Elda is survived by daughter, Lori Dobson of Moro, IL; grandchildren, David Biggs (Nikole) of Wood River, IL, Tyler Biggs (Jade) of Alton, IL, and April Biggs of Missouri; great grandchildren, Ellie Mae, Emery Rae, Natalie, and Trevor; along with several nieces, nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a daughter, Carol Baker; and siblings, Roland Meier, Evelyn Boster, and Ray Meier.
Per her wishes cremation rites will be accorded and professional services were entrusted to Elias Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto, IL.
