Edward E. Phillips, 76, of Cottage Hills passed away Friday, April 22, 2022, at Alton Memorial Hospital. He was born June 23, 1945, in Greenville, IL to Lindell C. and Mabel E. (Benefiel) Phillips. He married Donna Price, on October 9, 1962, in Wood River. Ed was retired from being a diesel mechanic; even though retired he still loved to work on vehicles. He ran AA meetings in Cottage Hills for many years and really enjoyed the experience.
He is survived by his wife Donna Phillips of Cottage Hills; sons, Brian Phillips, Kevin (Becky) Phillips, Josh (Mary) Delp, Triston Phillips, and Daniel Phillips all of Cottage Hills; daughter, Tina (Eric) Wood of Odessa, TX; 33 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; sister, Charlotte (John) Ingold of Bunker Hill; brothers, Lindell Phillips, Jr. of Bethalto, Donald Phillips of Alton, Robert Phillips of Cottage Hills, David Phillips of East Alton, and Randy Phillips of Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Chance Phillips.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday, April 25, 2022, at Paynic Home for Funerals in Rosewood Heights. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society. Online guestbook available at www.paynicfh.com.
