Edward Chesus

Edward Jay Chesus ("Eddie Jay"), 82, of Gillespie, IL, died peacefully on June 6, 2026. He was born August 26, 1943, to Edward Joseph Chesus and Rae Marie (Hull) Palier, in Litchfield, IL. A graduate of Gillespie High School and Southern Illinois University, Ed was retired from Fluid Tech Group, one of two engineering companies he founded. He is survived by his wife, Carol (Jalinsky), his three children: Steven Biggs (Jennifer), Dana Callaway (James) and Timothy Chesus, his 8 beloved grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Alayna, Chase, Quinn, Charlie, Celia, Luke and William, and his 3 siblings, Linda (John) Fassero, Louis Daley and Gina (Bill) Wright along with numerous nieces and nephews. A generous and wonderful man, husband, Grandfather and friend, he will be dearly missed. Especially his joyful smile, positive attitude and boisterous laugh.  

Ed was a member of St. Simon & Jude Church and Knights of Columbus, 4th Degree. He was preceded in death by his parents and Grandparents, Freeman and Cordelia Hull of Gillespie. A private Celebration of Life will held at a later date.
