Donna Marie Carach, 72, passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2024.
Born March 27, 1952 in Alton, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Gertrude (Brinkman) Heitzman.
She married Robert M. “Coco” Carach June 18, 1971 in Wood River. He also preceded her in death Aug. 12, 2007.
Donna worked as a bank teller until she retired in 2012. She enjoyed going for car rides in the country and playing Bingo—but only if she won. She was known by her family and friends as Mick Jagger’s biggest fan.
Donna is survived and will be missed by her daughter, Kelly (Noah) Kirkland of Godfrey; her three grandsons that she dearly loved, Wyatt, Dean and Reid Kirkland; four sisters, Linda (Stan) Schillinger of Moro, Judy Driesel of East Alton, Laura (Rodney) O’Dell of Fosterburg, and Helen Kestler of Alton; her brother, Joseph (Laurel) Heitzman of Rosewood Heights; her “adopted” sister, Cathy (Don) Stahl of Bunker Hill; and her beloved cat, Boo.
Visitation will be 1-4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 27 at Paynic Home for Funerals, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 28. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Memorials may be made to the World Wildlife Foundation, which was dear to Donna’s heart.
