Donald "Duane" Jones, 69, passed away Friday, October 24, 2025 at Bent-Wood Nursing and Rehab in Florissant, MO, with his family by his side.
Born April 11, 1956 in Wood River, he was the son of Donald Dale Jones and Erma (Trexler) Jones-Hartsock. Duane had been a truck driver for Teamsters Local #525 in Alton. He retired in 2014 after 38 years of service.
"Big Deranged", as he was affectionately known, was an avid motorcycle enthusiast and was ready for a "quick" 300 mile ride to get something to eat at a moments notice. Duane loved dogs of all shapes and sizes, often mentioning how the company of dogs makes life better.
Surviving are a daughter, Heather "Nikkie" Jones of Wood River; son, Ben Jones of Rosewood Heights; sister, Vanda (Dennis) Underwood of Chesterfield, MO; and beloved dog, "Dawg".
His parents preceded him in death.
A Time of Remembrance will be held from 12-2 pm, Saturday, November 15 at the Wood River Moose Lodge.
