Donald Brainerd Rippley, born October 31, 1937 in Alton, IL and was always quite proud of his Halloween birthday. He died in Evergreen, Colorado on December 19, 2011.
Don was the first-born son of C. Brainerd and Mabel (McMinn) Rippley of Alton, IL. Don grew up in Alton, attended schools here, was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Alton and worked in cafeteria service for Alton Public Schools for close to 40 years. In 1997, he and his father moved to Colorado to be closer to his brother, John. Don was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Bill. He is survived by his brother John and his spouse Peggy Rippley, niece and nephew Hannah and Michael Rippley.
An informal celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, May 19, 1:30 PM at the Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey, IL.
Private burial will take place at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.
