David Reynolds

David Wayne Reynolds, 76, of Alton, passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at his residence.

He was born in Litchfield, IL, on December 11, 1949, the son of Gerald and Dorothy (Lyerla) Reynolds. David married Denise Neunaber on June 19, 1976 at Zion Lutheran Church in Bethalto.

After graduating from Roxana High School in 1968, he earned his Bachelor's Degree from SIUC. Dave was proud to have played for the Roxana baseball team that went to the 1967 state championship playoff, finishing in the top 8 teams. Dave was employed as a Physical Education instructor and coach in the Roxana and Southwestern School Districts, where he also coached football and basketball. After his teaching career, he was a self-employed carpenter/contractor. He took time off from his business to manage and teach in the carpentry program at Ranken Technical College.

Along with his wife, Denise, he is survived by a sister, Barbara (Ronnie) Grosenheider of Litchfield; sister-in-law, Judy Reynolds of Litchfield; sister-in-law, Dallas (John) Meyer of Texas; brother-in-law, Dean (Lisa) Neunaber of Texas; nephews, Brad (Lois) Reynolds and family, Mike Reynolds and family, Rich (Heather) Grosenheider and family, Doug (Jessica) Grosenheider and family, Brian (Leanna) Meyer, Matthew (Kassie) Meyer; nieces, Mallory Meyer, Kristin (Bill) Weston and family, and Courtney (Nick) Conley and family. Also, two Goddaughters, Jennifer (Herndon) Roberts and Samantha (Reynolds) Darian.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Dorothy; and a brother, Gerald Reynolds.

Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto has been entrusted with cremation rites. No services will be held at this time.

Memorials are suggested to Roxana School's Foundation, to the attention of Fonda at the superintendent's office.
