David Phillip Presley, 66, of Alton, IL, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 28, 2024, in Lake City, FL. He was born on January 15, 1958, to Phillip "Raymond" and Ruth J. "Joanie" (Buckley) Presley. On March 17, 1990, David married his soulmate, Janet McGhee, in Harrison, AR, and they shared 34 wonderful years together.
David proudly served his country as a paratrooper in the United States Army. After his service, he dedicated 25 years to Miller 1st Insurance Agency until its closure, he then spent his days caring for his daughter, Erin. David was a kind and generous soul, known for his ability to make everyone feel loved and valued. His greatest passion in life was spending time with his family and friends, creating lasting memories that would be cherished forever.
An avid hobbyist, David had a deep love for woodworking, which he showcased at craft shows. He was a talented bowler, having bowled six perfect 300 games, and enjoyed fishing and camping at Sherwood Forest Campground; where he spent a lot of time with his children and grandchildren. But above all, David’s true joy came from helping others, always putting the needs of those around him before his own.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his in-laws, James and Mary McGhee, and Addie McGhee; and a sister and brother -in-law, Randall and Jackie Crane.
