David Kayser, 68, died at 3:40 a.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at his home. He was born February 13, 1958 in Alton, the son of the late David Otto Kayser and Anna Mae (Cervi) Kayser of Alton.
David worked 42 years for Granite City Steel as a foreman for many years. He was a member the American Legion, Owls Club and various golf leagues. He enjoyed golfing, guitars, gardening, building and mechanics and fixing things. His nickname was “Super Dave”, he was always willing to help anyone.
Surviving is his significant other, Cathy Hunter, two daughters, Megan Estes and Jessie Cox, two sons, Andrew Kayser(Julie) and Morgan Spears (Amber), seven grandchildren, Anna Mae, Natalie, Zane, Tay, Maggie, Charles and Ethan and one sister, Nancy Stunkel (Russ) and his dog and loyal companion, “Bear”.
He was preceded in death by his father and one sister, Sue Olson.
Per his wishes, he was cremated.
A Celebration of life will be June 27, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the Owls Club in Alton.
