Darwyn Bryant

Darwyn E. “Dar” Bryant, 64, passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at his home.

Born Sept. 1, 1960 in Alton, Dar was the director of the Dream Center of Alton. He was an active member of The River Church, where he was a producer in the media department. 

He authored a book, “360 Degrees: Full Circle”. He enjoyed buying and selling antiques and collectibles. Dar was a generous man who dedicated his life to helping others. He was driven by his ministry to put his neighbor before himself. He fiercely loved and protected his wife and family.

He married Valerie Garrow Aug. 31, 1999 in Mesa AZ.  She survives, along with his children, Alisha (Ron) McKee of Godfrey, Rochelle “Nikki” (Jeff) Bewley of Shepherdstown, WV, Christopher Travis Bryant of Gilbert, AZ, and Kendal Catuccio of New Baden, IL; 4 grandchildren, Alexis, Alayna, Addyson, and Isla, as well as twins on the way; his mother and stepfather, Rita Louise and Wayne Allen Parcel of East Alton; his siblings, Sherri (Steve) Yates of East Alton and Tim (Terri) Bryant of Wood River; stepsisters, Kim (Tim) Obenhaus and Chris (Joe) Randazzo, all of St. Louis; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Darrell Franklin Bryant; his beloved grandmother, Ruby Wilson; and a great nephew, Asher Yates.

Visitation will be 1-4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8, 2024 at Paynic Home for Funerals, and will continue Monday, Dec. 9, 2024 at The River Church in Alton from 10 a.m. until services begin at 11 a.m.  Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.

Memorials may be made to The Dream Center of Alton.
