Darrin Scott Copeland, 49, passed away unexpectedly at 8:02 a.m. Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at Alton Memorial Hospital.
Born in Carlinville on April 15, 1966, he was the son of Clyde Eugene and Marcella (Welch) Copeland of Cottage Hills.
He had been working as a laborer for the Godfrey Mulch Plant.
Surviving in addition to his parents are, two sons, Damon (Amber) Copeland and Warren Copeland all of Alton; daughter, Megan Emmons of Osage Beach, MO; five grandchildren, Mackenzi, Hayden, Jacob, Travis and Bella Copeland; two sisters, Jean Howard of Brighton, Patty (Robert) Greer of Holiday Shores; and a brother, Dennis Haney of Cottage Hills.
Preceding in death were a brother, Randy Copeland; sister, Pam Shemwell; and former wife, Sheri Beckham.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will begin with a visitation from 2 p.m. until time of service at 3 p.m. Saturday at Marks Mortuary in Wood River. Pastor Shea Hughes will officiate.
