Daniel Marcum

Daniel Conrad Marcum, 26, went to be with the Lord at 12:20 a.m. on Sunday, August 21, 2016. He was born March 5, 1990 in Alton the son of Michael and Patricia (Conrad) Marcum. He worked as a Territory Manager for ACI Distributors. He graduated from the School of Agriculture at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale where he was a member of Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity, Beta Alpha Chapter. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Godfrey. Daniel had a passion for hunting, fishing, boating, horseback riding and playing guitar. As a man who never met a stranger, he leaves behind countless friends. Besides his parents he is survived by one son; Beau Marcum of Brighton, one brother; Jeff Marcum of Wichita, KS, one sister; Holly Hampton (Dagan) of Godfrey, one grandmother; Dorothy Conrad of Godfrey, one Uncle; Ron (Sandy) Conrad of Brighton and one niece and nephew; Lauren Reese and David Reese, two cousins; Renee (Brent) Guttmann and Lora (Jeff) Rensing, and his loving dog; Coral. He was preceded in death by two grandfather; Harley Conrad and Roger Marcum and one grandmother; Maryln Marcum. Visitation will be Friday, August 26, 2016 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church in Godfrey with Reverend Don E. Long Jr. officiating. Burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey. Memorials may be made to the Daniel Marcum Memorial Trust Fund, which will be for the benefit of Daniel’s son, Beau or Godfrey First United Methodist Church.
