Dagmar Davis-Annable Dagmar Wiskow Davis-Annable, age 82 of Worden, IL, died Friday, September 5, 2025, at Saint Louis University Hospital in Saint Louis, MO.

She was born on Sunday, March 14, 1943, in East Germany, the daughter of Siegfried and Lieselotte (nee Krause) Wiskow.

On Saturday, June 10, 2000, she married James E. Annable in Glen Carbon, Illinois, who survives.

Dagmar was born in Stettin, East Germany. In 1945, her family fled to the west to Guderhandviertel to avoid the Russians. They moved to the United States in 1956. She earned a BS from Peabody University and then a master’s from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville. From 1983-1994 she taught at Venice High School. She then taught at Granite City High School from 1994-2009.She was member of Salem United Church of Christ. Dagmar sang in their Chancel Choir and was a member of the Women’s Guild of the church. She and her husband enjoyed a time-share in Mexico. For the past 25 years, she has returned 6 times to Germany to visit family and friends. For a year, they had sponsored a German Exchange Student, Andre Kahrs. In her retirement, she enjoyed gardening (especially flowers), listening to music on the radio, and spending time with her five cats, camping and cooking.

  • Step Son - Jeff Annable, Edwardsville, IL
  • Grandchild - Ivan Davis, Worden, IL
  • Former Daughter-In-Law - Julie Davis
  • Step Grandchild - Brendan Love, Manchester, MO
  • Step Grandchild - Aiden Love, Granite City, IL

She was preceded in death by:

  • Father - Siegfried Wiskow
  • Mother - Lieselotte Wiskow (nee Krause)
  • Grandchild - Oliver Evan Davis, died before birth 5/23/2015
  • Brother - Ingo Julius Wiskow, killed in action in Vietnam

Arrangements are being handled by Dauderman Mortuary in Alhambra, IL.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at Salem United Church of Christ in Alhambra, IL.

Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, September 12, 2025, at Salem United Church of Christ in Alhambra, IL., with Rev. Jeremy R. Wood, Pastor, pastor, Alhambra, IL officiating.

Interment will be at Salem Cemetery in Alhambra, IL.

Memorial contributions may be made to Salem United Church of Christ.
