Constance “Suzanne” McKechan, 77, of Granite City, Illinois, passed away at 9:03 a.m. on Sunday, March 22, 2026, at Gateway Regional Medical Center. She was born November 26, 1948, in Murphysboro, Illinois, a daughter of the late Frank and Patricia Anne (Parker) Reiman Jr.
Suzanne married the love of her life, Gerald “Jerry” McKechan, on April 16, 1982, in St. Louis, Missouri, and he survives. She retired in 2020 from Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals after more than 20 years of dedicated service as a senior purchasing agent.
Suzanne found great joy in celebrating life’s special moments. She especially loved the holidays, delighting in hosting gatherings for family and friends and decorating for every occasion. She had a deep love for animals and treasured the companionship of her beloved dogs. Above all, Suzanne was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who cherished attending her sons’ activities over the years and creating lasting memories with her grandchildren. She was always there for others, known for her warm, loving personality and her quick wit.
In addition to her beloved husband, she is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Bradley Ervay of Collinsville and Patrick and Nicole McKechan of Glen Carbon; two grandchildren, Evan Ervay and Hailey McKechan; a sister, Donna DeeLurgio of Chicago; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jack and Marilyn McKechan of Edwardsville; a sister-in-law, Linda McKechan of Granite City; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Jim McKechan.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be held at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City, on Thursday, March 26, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 27, 2026, with Reverend Mark Maynard officiating.
