Connie Gerkin

Connie Marie Gerkin, 69, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 2:17 a.m. on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at Stearns Nursing and Rehab in Granite City.

She was born May 2, 1956, in Granite City, a daughter of the late Andrew A. and Mildred R. (Cave) Gerkin.

Connie had worked many years at K-Mart in Granite City and later retired from Wal-Mart in Granite City after many years of dedicated service. She was very artistic and talented and loved working with crafts and making beautiful jewelry. She loved nature and enjoyed feeding the birds and bunnies at her home.

She will be remembered for her gentle and loving spirit and the love and special times shared with her family and friends. Connie leaves behind her beloved sister, Nancy Gerkin of Granite City; her brother, Mark Gerkin Sr. of Granite City; her nephew, Mark (Brittany) Gerkin Jr. of Pontoon Beach; three great nephews, Logan, Cooper and Wyatt; other extended family and friends.
