Chrisoula Siampos

Chrisoula (Chris) Siampos passed away at 5:24 A.M. Sunday, October 12, 2025 at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Alton, IL. She was born to the late Stamati and Kokoni Karioffilli in Drama, Greece on August 19, 1935.

Chrisoula married John Siampos on October 28, 1961 at St. Demetrios Loumbardiaris Church in Athens, Greece and immigrated to the United States. Chrisoula was a brave and hard-working wife and mother. She strove hard for academic and occupational success.  She studied nursing in Greece and in the United States. Despite English being her second language, she earned both a BS in Nursing from SIUE and on May 16, 1995 she earned an MS in nursing from UMSL.  She was a registered nurse at several hospitals and was a school nurse for Triad High School and Alton High School. She also taught biology at Alton High School and Triad High School. Later in her career she ventured back into nursing and oversaw a student nursing program. She was also a certified Public Health Nurse.

Along with her husband John, she is survived by two sons Treefon Siampos, George (Chrissa) Siampos, and four grandchildren John Anthony Siampos, Christine Siampos, Alexander Siampos, and Evonne Siampos.

A visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. with a Trisagion “Thrice Holy” service at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, October 16, 2025 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Visitation will continue from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 17, 2025 at Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 405 Huntwood Road, Swansea, IL. Father Achilles Karathanos will officiate. A luncheon will be served at the church immediately following services. She will be buried at Alton City Cemetery next to her mother-in-law and father-in-law after the luncheon. Online guestbook and information may be found at www.gentfuneralhome.com.
