Chris Eitzenhefer

Chris Anthony Eitzenhefer, 61, of Belleville, IL, born November 15, 1963, in Belleville, IL, died Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at his residence, after a seven month-long battle with cancer.

Chris was a member of the Local 520 Operating Engineers for 33 years. He loved fishing and was an avid St. Louis sports fan, especially the St. Louis Blues. His greatest joy was coaching and watching his daughter succeed in sports and spending quality time with his dog, Vladi.

He was preceded in death by his father, Melvin Eitzenhefer; a brother, Stephen Eitzenhefer; and his stepfather, Claude Tune.

Surviving are his daughter, Emily Eitzenhefer (Fiancé Ryne Hanslow); his mother, Mary Eitzenhefer-Tune, nee Salomone; a brother, Greg (Paula) Eitzenhefer; a sister, Deena (Darrel) Hinkle; nieces and nephews, Brittany (Ben) Rongey, Stephen (Madi) Hinkle, Morgan Hinkle (Nicholas Wuelling), and Olivia Hinkle; great nieces and nephews, Weston, Kendyl, Brady, and Rogan; and dear grandson, Zane Sronce.

The family would like to thank Heartland Hospice and Morning Glory Home Care for their care for Chris in his final days.
