Charles Nolen

Charles William Nolen Jr., 78, of Troy, IL, was born Tuesday, January 14, 1947, in St. Louis, MO and passed away on Monday, November 10, 2025, in Highland, IL.

Charles attended St. Jerome Catholic Church. He served his Country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Troy American Legion Post 708. He owned and operated Charlie’s Barber Shop in Troy before taking a position with the United States Post Office in Hazelwood, MO where he retired. He loved his family and the times they spent together.

He was preceded in death by his son, Charles W. Nolen III; and his parents, Charles W. Sr. and Helvetia (nee Anthony) Nolen.

Surviving is his wife, Carolyn (nee Brodbeck) Nolen whom he married July 14, 1969; his daughter, Heather Anne Kelly of Odenton, MD; his grandchildren, Hailey (Thomas “TJ”) Hollansworth and Seth Kelly; his great-grandson, Colton Hollansworth; his sisters, Jeri McCallister and Chris Patrick both of Troy, IL; his brother, Mike (Lori) Nolen of MO; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Private graveside services with Military Honors will be held at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
