Charles Louis Meyer of South Roxana passed at 12:36 p.m. on Thursday, November 14, 2024.
Born February 13, 1937 in East Alton, IL, he was a son of Matthew Mark Meyer and Mildred E. (Jones) Meyer.
He married his best friend and love of his life, Judith Rae Welshan on Aug. 29, 1959 in Granite City; she preceded him death in November 1, 2022.
Charles loved spending time with his family. He loved them and was not afraid to show it. He was very talented with his hands, whether it was being a mechanic, carpenter or building model cars. He was an artist.
He is survived by three daughters, Lou Ann (Jim) McFarlane of Godfrey, Jennifer (Kenneth) Yates of Worden, and Marsha (Scott) Edwards of Bunker Hill; 21 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren; brothers, Thomas Meyer of Clearwater, FL and sister, Jean Marie Brewer of Colby, KS.
Along with his wife, he was preceded in death by parents; daughter, Cheryl Carpenter; son, Charles Meyer, Jr; brothers, Matthew M. Meyer Jr and David Meyer and sisters, Anna Marie Jansen and Eleanor Ruth Ward.
Memorial visitation will be Thursday, November 21, 2024 at Paynic Home for Funerals in East Alton from 4 p.m. until services begin at 6 p.m.
Memorials may be given to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
