Charles Mattingly, 90, passed away at 2:12 pm on Monday, April 13, 2026, at Godfrey, Illinois.
He was born on November 11, 1935, in Perryville, Missouri to Jesse and Nelly (Schemp) Mattingly.
He married Catherine Prost on June 13, 1959, in Perryville, Missouri. She preceded him in death on May 12, 2018.
Charles was a proud Veteran of the US Navy and bravely served his country during the Korean War. He worked as an electrician for LaClede Steel for over 38 years.
Charles is survived by his children, Ken (Rollene) Mattingly and Rhonda (Rick) Anderson; five grandchildren, Nathan Mattingly, Brian Mattingly, Kyle Mattingly, Megan Lewis, and Rachel Chamberlayne; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be held privately with Deacon Bill Kessler. Charles will be interred alongside his wife at Rose Lawn Memory Garden.
