Cecilia Billbruck
Wood River | Save
Cecilia “Jean” Billbruck 82, gracefully left this life Wednesday, September 25, 2023, from her home in the company of her loving family.
The second of five children born June 9, 1941 to William and Elizabeth (nee Smith) Aubrey, now deceased.
In February 1970, she married Oscar F. Bilbruck, and together they raised six children.
During much of her life she was a homemaker looking after the welfare and growth of her children, but to help make ends meet, she had worked at the former Bethalto Rexall and later at the Alton Pearle Vision Center, retiring in 2006. She was a faithful and longtime member of the East Alton Church of Christ and could spend countless hours playing Scrabble. She had a love of Florida, where they had lived the previous twelve years, and was also very proud of her cobalt blue glass collection.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her loving children; daughters Sally (Kevin) Neal of Carthage IL, Pamela (William) Perkins of Meadowbrook, and Patrica Huffmaster of Brighton; and sons Paul (Rhonda) Bilbruck of Brighton, Frank (Phyliss) Bilbruck of Kansas City MO, and Lloyd (Brenda) Knight of Bethalto, along with ten grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Stella Yenne and Janet Silveus, both of Bethalto.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her older sister Teresa Albrecht, and her brother William Aubrey.
As per her wishes, cremation rites were afforded by Paynic Funeral Home, with a memorial service planned for later. Memorials may be made to the East Alton Church of Christ.
