Carl Francis Treadway, 80, of Brighton, passed away on Friday, February 27, 2026.
He was born on January 10, 1946, in Alton, the son of the late Lonell Treadway and Ethel (Lanham) Treadway-Fensterman.
Carl worked as a painter and retired from Beverly Farms. He had also painted for St. Josephs Hospital for over 10 years. Carl was a farrier and blacksmith, and just a jack of all trades. He enjoyed raising animals, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family.
He married Susan Howard on July 12, 1968, in Alton. Together they have two sons Kenneth (Angela) Treadway of Bethalto and Jacob Treadway of Moro; four grandchildren, Owen, Onna, Zachary, and Spencer Treadway; two sisters, Ruth Cox and Teresa (Lee) Phillips.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents.
Per his wishes cremation rites have been accorded and entrusted to Anderson Family Funeral Home in Brighton.
The family will be hosting a private Celebration of Life at a later date.
