Brenda Peterson

Brenda Kay Peterson, 73, of Bunker Hill, IL, died at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, MO on Monday, October 13, 2025 at 11:54 am.  

She was born November 4, 1951, in Granite City, IL to Ryan I. Coleman & Eula "Mae" Clements Coleman. She married her high school sweetheart Leslie L. "Butch" Peterson on June 10, 1972 in Granite City, IL.  

She is survived by her sons, Larry (Deanna) Peterson of Edwardsville, IL, Lonnie (Cassie) Peterson of Fulton, MO, grandchildren, Madeline, Lydia, Lane, Lloyd, and brother, Amos Coleman of St. Jacob, IL.  Brenda was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband.  

Known affectionately to her grandchildren as “Manna,” she was the heart of her family and a light to all who knew her. A true social butterfly, she had a remarkable gift for connecting with others—she never knew a stranger, only friends she hadn’t yet met. Her generosity and unwavering love for her family and friends defined her life.

Friends may call on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at Kravanya Funeral Home in Bunker Hill from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm with a memorial service to follow at the funeral home at 12:00 pm.

Burial will be at Bunker Hill Cemetery, Bunker Hill, IL. A luncheon will follow at the First Congregational Church, Bunker Hill, IL.
