Bobbie Nowlin

Bobbie Jean Nowlin, 53, of Wood River, IL, passed away peacefully at 2:43 PM on Friday, September 13, 2024, at her home.

Born on January 8, 1971, in Alton, IL, she was the beloved daughter of Robert Morris and Norma Lee (McPherson) Gayan. Bobbie dedicated her professional life to various roles, including working as a Personal Assistant for Home Health Care, contributing to the family business in seal coating asphalt, and serving as a Lift Truck Operator for FedEx.

Bobbie is survived by her two sons, Brandon Nowlin of East Alton, IL, and Johnny Nowlin of South Roxana, IL. She is also mourned by her sister and brother-in-law, Gwendolyn and Brian Garland of Wood River, IL; her brother, Robbie Gayan of Cottage Hills, IL;  her two grandsons, Jesse Hammons and Chase Nowlin; her best friend, Wendy Brooks of Hartford, IL; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Norma Gayan, her grandparents, Daniel and Virginia McPherson, and a beloved nephew, Jared McPherson and niece, Karissa McPherson.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024, from 11:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Service at 1:00 PM at Connect Church in South Roxana, IL, with Pastor Dan Smith officiating. Cremation rites will follow, and inurnment will take place at a later date at Woodland Hill Cemetery in East Alton, IL.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.

Arrangements are under the care of Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.
