Bob Dake

Bob Dake, 93, passed away at 3:50 am on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at Delmar Gardens West in Chesterfield, Missouri. 

He was born on August 14, 1932, in Wood River, the son of the late Luther and Leona (Schoenweis) Dake. He married the former Virginia Heffner on December 28, 1985, in Wood River, and she survives. 

Other survivors include two daughters and a son in law: Pamela Jean and Kevin Kellim of Topeka, Kansas, Patti Jane Ward of Topeka, Kansas, a step-daughter and her husband: Penny Jo and Lee Stewart of Wentzville, Missouri, seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.

Bob was employed as a teacher in Lebanon, Wood River, Collinsville, and worked for six years at Civic Memorial High School where he worked in the industrial arts department.  He was a member of the Iota Lamda Sigma Fraternity. He was a self employed carpenter for over forty years and attended the First Baptist Church of Maryville. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother: Donald Dake and a sister: Jean Davis.

In celebration of his life, visitation will be from 9 am until time of services at 10 am on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at Pitchford Funeral Home. Rev. Dr. Robert Mills will officiate. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.

Memorials are suggested to the Community Hope Center or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
