Blake Edmund Gregory, 61, passed away at 5:54 p.m. on Sunday, October 19, 2025 at Alton Memorial Hospital.
He was born October 3, 1964 in East St. Louis, IL the son of the late Jerry Edmund Gregory and Cheryl (Cleary) Gregory of Godfrey.
Blake served in the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Pyro. He enjoyed cooking and gardening and supporting the Misfitz Organization for children in need. Blake was a retired Ferry Pilot with the Kampsville Ferry and was a self-employed painter.
Besides his mother, Blake is survived by two sons, Ryan Gregory (Sara) of Hartford, Brent Gregory of Moro, four grandchildren, Aubrey Smith, Brinley Gregory, Brent Gregory and Dutch Gregory, one sister, Lori Hartnett (David) of Alton, one brother, Craig Gregory of Bethalto, three nephews, Lane Gregory, Jeffrey Hartnett, Andrew Hartnett (Melissa) and three great nephews, Leo, Huk and Cru and his beloved dogs, Teddy and Yeddy.
Besides his father, he was preceded in death by one brother, Brian Michael Gregory.
A Memorial service will be at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 23, 2025 followed by a visitation until 6:00 p.m. at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Pastor Luke Schutzenhofer will officiate.
Private burial will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Misfitz Organization, Wood River, IL.
